![]() The Metabox laptop has two video cards, an Intel HD graphics 630 card and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 card and I believe the onboard 17″ screen by default is using the NVIDIA GeForce GTX card. I have a Metabox laptop with a 17″ screen and 2x 32″ Samsung monitors connected. Firstly, let me share with you my laptop and screen setup. See below:Īfter some research and testing, I discovered a fix and it may also help you fix the same problem. However, when trying to record one of the display screen (the main laptop screen rather than the extended screens) using OBS, the screen would just be black. The alternative was to use OBS since it’s open-source. I wasn’t able to record using Filmora Screen Recorder because I had to uninstall the software. In my previous post, I used OBS to actually record the video for UPGRADE STUCK ON FILMORA 9 CAN NOT UPGRADE TO 10. I’m able to record and stream videos the way I want it and I can easily change the layouts based on my requirements. It seems that OBS updated the source "Monitor 3" to be my secondary display and thinks that the primary display source has been disconnected.I’ve used OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) for a few months now and it’s been great. OBS source "Monitor 1" is display 3 in Windows.OBS source "Monitor 2" is display 2 in Windows.OBS source "Monitor 3" is display 1 in Windows. ![]() I did not map the OBS source names to the Windows display order correctly. Hmm, could be possible that order matters. I don't know if reproducing your issue requires three monitors, or Windows 10, but I'm not in a position to check either easily. Clicking Cancel makes the display capture blank again. Open display capture properties for secondary, and it selects primary, which is expected since it's the only display in the list.Primary capture is still capturing primary.Disconnect display 2 (in Windows 11, the option is "Show only on 1").Set up scene with primary and secondary monitors display captured.Conveniently 1 is primary, and 2 is secondary in Windows settings on my PC. This is the log link of all 3 connected displays with 3 different display capture sources: This was never an issue prior to OBS 29.0.0. I have always had 3 displays plugged in into my GPU with 1 of the displays disconnected most of the time. Even though the display list contains the primary display, selecting it chooses another display. In Windows, go to Settings -> System -> Display, select a display that isn't the primary display then select "Disconnect this display" under Multiple displays and apply changes.Add at least 2 different display capture sources, including the primary display, then close OBS.Current Behaviorĭisplay capture does not show the primary display whenever a display device is disconnected. Display capture should show the primary display whenever a display device is disconnected.
